Excel - Earthwork Summary Report
Last updated: 2022-08-30
Overview
This report will create a Excel Worksheet that compiles the selected earthwork detail sheets into a single summary table for miscellaneous quantities. This tool is only compatible with earthwork workbooks that were created with the enhance version of the WisDOT Earthwork Detail Report found in Civil 3D. This summary report is a proposed alternative to the current Earthwork Summary Report, and avoids the need to use an external desktop application.
Usage
With the previously generated Earthwork workbook open, access the Earthwork Summary Report from the ribbon tab.
WisDOT Civil 3D tab > Reports panel > Earthwork Summary Report
- Select the detail sheets to include in the summary by checking the box in the Include column.
- By default, all detail sheets are listed in the same division (1). To separate the detail sheets into multiple divisions, assign the division number to each detail sheet in the Division column.
- Enter the factors used to compute the earthwork. The factor entered in this dialog a placed in the header of the summary table. They are then checked against the factors used for each detail sheet.
- OK to create the summary worksheet.
- If the factors differ from what was used in a detail sheet, the cell for the quantity will display "FactorMismatch".
- The summary report relies on specific named ranges generated by the Earthwork Detail Report. If the named ranges do not exist or are renamed, the reliant cell will display "RangeNotFound".
- Since the summary report uses named range reference, updates to the detail worksheets will be reflected.
