WisDOT linetypes

Overview
The WisDOT Civil 3D standards require custom AutoCAD linetypes. WisDOT custom linetypes reside in linetype component files that are included in the WisDOT Civil 3D resource files.
Warning: Altering WisDOT component files and directories may result in lost functionality. Contact CAE Support for more information.
When starting a project from a WisDOT template, the WisDOT templates are purged of all WisDOT standards components except those necessary for WisDOT Civil 3D Styles. To add all WisDOT standards components groups at once (symbol blocks, dimension styles, layers, linetypes, multileaders, and textstyles) use Add All Components. Each WisDOT standards component group can also be added individually to a drawing.
User component files can be created and stored in C:\WisDOT\Stnd\users\Myc3d20xx\
New custom linetype requests can be directed to the WisDOT Civil 3D Futures Trello board for review and consideration.
Resource files
Linetype component files
The WisDOT linetype component files consist of an AutoCAD linetype file and an AutoCAD drawing. The files are located in: C:\WisDOT\Stnd\C3D20xx\Components\Linetype\
- wisdot.lin is a linetype file containing the code for all the WisDOT custom linetypes.

Linetypes.dwg is a drawing containing all the WisDOT custom linetypes displayed in model space.
Linetypes lists
WisDOT custom linetypes include both Annotative linetypes and True scale linetypes. An explanation of the difference between these two types of linetypes can be found at Linetype scale explained.

Using linetypes
The available linetypes in an active DWG can be found in the Linetype Manager. This can be accessed by LINETYPE Enter
To add all the WisDOT custom linetypes to a drawing as a group, use the Linetypes Add component group command.
WisDOT custom linetypes can be added to a drawing individually from the drawing tools in the Linetype palette group.
