Cross section sheets

Create file

  1. Create a new file with the QNEW button in the Quick Access Toolbar.
  2. Save the file <ProjectID>\SheetsPlan\090201-xs.dwg
  3. Add Data References and XREF's as needed.
    1. Data Reference the alignment of the road that is to be sampled by the cross sections
      1. Toolspace > Prospector tab > Data Shortcuts area > expand Alignments > expand Centerline > Right-click on the alignment to be referenced > Create Reference
    2. Data reference alignments for right-of-way, property lines, and other markings to display in section views.
  4. Data reference the Rfnt surfaces for Top and Datum
    1. Toolspace > Prospector tab > Data Shortcuts area > expand Surfaces
    2. Right-click on Rfnt-<CorridorName>-Top > Create Reference
      1. Style: Top Border
    3. Right-click on Rfnt-<CorridorName>-Datum > Create Reference
      1. Style: Datum Border
  5. Data Reference the corridor
    1. Open the corridor file from <ProjectID>\Design\Corridor folder
    2. Save the file to make sure data shortcut links will be properly pathed
    3. Prospector > Right-click on Data Shortcuts > Create Data Shortcut
    4. Checkmark the corridor to be shared with the cross section file. OK
    5. Open the cross section file. This file should already have the alignment and other DREF’d objects from earlier steps.
    6. Prospector > Data Shortcuts > Expand Corridors > Right-click on the corridor name > Create Reference
    7. In the Create Corridor Reference OK
  6. In this file complete the following tasks
    1. Create Sample lines/ Sample the refinement surface
    2. Create Section views with Section view group
    3. Create section sheets
