Corridor - Import Code Set Styles

Last updated: 2026-06-11

Overview

This tool is used to import code set styles from any .dwg or .dwt file. The user is prompted if a style with the same name is to be updated and informed which styles are added.

Use cases for importing code set styles:

1. Import WisDOT code set styles

The code set styles are stored in:

C:\WisDOT\Stnd\C3D20XX\Templates\design-start.dwt

2. Import Rendered code set styles

The code set styles and render materials are stored in: C:\WisDOT\Stnd\C3D20XX\Components\Assemblies\CodeSets\CodeSets.dwg.

Render materials can be used to help visualize a roadway design. This command imports the following WisDOT code set styles and associated render materials:

  • Model - Color by Link - Rendered
  • Model - Color by Top Materials - Rendered

The "- Rendered" code set styles are copies of the "Plan" code set styles but also include rendered materials.

AutoCAD render materials are needed to view corridor link material areas in 3D within the Civil 3D model space. Set the Visual Style to Realistic to see the link material areas.

Type rmat in the command line to access the Materials Browser to view and edit render materials.

These code sets are not included in the WisDOT templates since they would significantly increase the file size of the templates.

3. Project code set styles

Custom project code set styles can be brought into other project files. Subassembly point, link, and shape codes may need to be adjusted in the consuming file in order for the code set style to display correctly.

Usage

WisDOT Design tab > Design panel > Corridor dropdown > Import Code Set Styles

The tool can also be accessed from the command line: DOTIMPORTCODESETSTYLES

Code Set Styles are listed in Toolspace > Settings tab > General > Multipurpose Styles > Code Set Styles

Render materials can be purged if the rendered code set style is deleted.
