PartialMarsh
Last updated: 2021-02-12
Description
Inserts marsh excavation links for partial marsh excavation from a defined target surface (MARSH) up to a separate target surface (EXIST) based on WisDOT standards.
Behavior
Inserts links that represent the area of partial marsh excavation. Two different scenarios may be encountered.
If the attachment point is above Target Surface1, the subassembly projects down from the attachment point to the intersection with Target Surface1 (Point Q) at a slope defined by the user (Projection Slope from Attachment Point to Target Surface1). From point Q, the subassembly will project down to the intersection of Target Surface2 (Point A) at a slope defined by the Projection Slope from Target Surface1 to Target Surface2 input parameter. The outside Marsh Excavation link starts at this point (shown as Point A) and continues upward at a slope defined by the user (Slope of Outside Marsh Excavation) to its intersection with TargetSurface1. The Inside Marsh Excavation link has an insertion point on Target Surface1 at an offset from the baseline defined by the user (Offset to Inside Marsh Excavation). From this point on Target Surface1, shown as Point B, a link is inserted downward to the intersection with Target Surface2, at a slope defined by the user (Slope of Inside Marsh Excavation). This intersection point is shown as Point C.
If the attachment point is below Target Surface1, subassembly will project from the attachment point down to the intersection with Target Surface 2 at a slope defined by the Projection Slope from Target Surface1 to Target Surface2 input parameter. From this projection point, shown as Point A, a Marsh Excavation link is inserted, projecting back up to Target Surface1 at the slope defined by the user.
The Marsh Excavation area is defined by the link between Point B and Point C; the link between Point A and Point D; Links are inserted between Point C and Point A, following TargetSurface2; Links are also inserted between Point B and Point D, following TargetSurface1 creating a closed shape.
Attachment & layout mode operation
The attachment is at inside edge of the links inserted.
In layout mode, this subassembly display links projecting from a point 5 feet below the baseline profile using the slopes defined.
Input parameters
Info: All dimensions are in feet unless otherwise noted. All slopes are in run-over-rise form (for example, 4:1) unless indicated as a percent slope with a "%" sign.
Parameter | Description | Type | Default |
---|---|---|---|
Side | Specifies which side to place the subassembly. | Left/Right | Left |
Projection Slope from Attachment Point to Target Surface1 | Specifies the slope of a temporary line projected down from the attachment point down to the intersection with Target Surface1 defining Point Q. | Slope, Positive | 2:1 |
Projection Slope from Target Surface1 to Target Surface2 | Specifies the slope of a line projected down from Point Q to the intersection with Target Surface2 defining Test Point A. No links are inserted. | Slope, Positive | 0:1 |
Slope of Outside Marsh Excavation | Specifies the slope of the link inserted from Point A to the intersection with Target Surface1. | Slope, Positive | 0.5:1 |
Offset to Inside Marsh Excavation | Offset from the Baseline defining the horizontal location of Point B, the location where the Inside Marsh Excavation link starts. A negative value indicates an offset to the left of the baseline. | Numeric | 10.0 |
Slope of Inside Marsh Excavation | Downward slope of the inside Marsh Excavation Link which runs from Target Surface1 at Point B, whose horizontal position is defined by the user, to the intersection with Target Surface2. | Slope, Positive | 1:1 |
Target parameters
This section lists the parameters in this subassembly that can be mapped to one or more target objects, such as a surface, alignment, or profile object in a drawing.
Parameter | Description | Status |
---|---|---|
Target Surface1 | Name of the Surface representing the existing terrain. The following object types can be used as targets for specifying the surface: surfaces. | Required |
Target Surface2 | Name of the Surface representing the Marsh layer. The following object types can be used as targets for specifying the surface: surfaces. | Required |
Distance to Inside Marsh Excavation | Alignment used to defined the offset for the beginning point of the Inside Marsh Slope on Target Surface1. The following object types can be used as targets for specifying the offest: alignments, polylines, feature lines, or survey features. | Optional |
