ExtSurfMultiInt
Last updated: 2021-02-12
Description
The ExtendSurfaceMultiIntercept subassembly is used when a cut or fill slope may have more than one intersection with a target surface.
Behavior
This subassembly attempts to find all possible daylight points for the slope condition specified. If one or more daylight points are found, they are ordered and numbered by increasing offset from the attachment point. The attachment point is determined by finding the leftmost or rightmost offset and elevation of the target surface specified as Surface to Extend. The daylight link is terminated at the point that matches the Intercept Number value. If the Intercept Number is higher than the number of intercepts found, the last intercept found is used. If no intercepts are found a message will be displayed in the event viewer.
Attachment & layout mode operation
The attachment point is at the leftmost or rightmost offset of Surface to Extend (insertion side dependent). Can be inserted on either the right or left side.
In layout mode the subassembly displays a link from a point 10 feet to the right or left of the baseline alignement and 5 feet below the baseline profile, using the slope parameter set as input by the.The link is terminated with an arrowhead pointing outwards.
Input parameters
Info: All dimensions are in feet unless otherwise noted. All slopes are in run-over-rise form (for example, 4:1) unless indicated as a percent slope with a "%" sign.
Parameter | Description | Type | Default |
---|---|---|---|
Side | Specifies which side to place the subassembly. | Left / Right | Right |
Slope | The slope of the surface extension. Used in both cut and fill conditions. Negative slopes go downward in the direction inserted. | Slope | 4:1 |
Intercept Number | The number of the intercept to use for daylighting the surface extension link. If the Intercept Number is greater then the actual number of intercepts, the last intercept found is used. | Numeric, positive, integer | 2 |
Point Codes | List of codes to be assigned to the outside edge point of the link. | Comma-separated string | Daylight |
Link Codes | List of codes to be assigned to the link. | Comma-separated string | Datum |
Target parameters
This section lists the parameters in this subassembly that can be mapped to a target object such as a surface, alignment, or profile object in a drawing. Setting targets is required when the geometry of one or more of an assembly's component subassemblies require corresponding surfaces, alignments, or profiles for defining that geometry. The object names must be mapped from the subassembly definition to the corresponding drawing objects. For more information, see Setting and Editing Targets in the AutoCAD Civil 3D User's Guide Help.
