Import PCPT ALI File

Overview

Imports SDMS .ali files that are PC/PT defined and creates an Civil 3D alignment with an assigned style and label set.

Usage

WisDOT Survey tab > Survey panel > Import PCPT ALI File

The tool can also be accessed from the command line: DOTIMPORTSDMSPCPTALI.

  1. Select File: Click the folder icon to browse to the input .ali file.

  2. Alignment:

    1. Name: Type the name of the alignment

    2. Style: Select a Civil 3D alignment style from the menu.

    3. Label Set: Select a Civil 3D alignment label set style from the menu.

  3. Translation: Each point in the ALI file is translated by the given X,Y values.

    1. X Translation: Enter a X translation.

    2. Y Translation: Enter a Y translation.

  4. Curves: Choose whether to create fixed curves or free curves.

    1. Fixed Curves: Creates the alignment exactly how it is defined in the ALI file. (This may result in tangency errors.)

    2. Free Curves: Creating free curves automatically resolves tangency at PCs and PTs.

      1. Choose whether to maintain the curve lengths/stationing, or to maintain the curve radii.

  5. Click OK.
