Layers - Assign Object Layer Defaults

Overview

This command will assign Civil 3D objects to the correct layer according to the drawing's Object Layer default settings. The command provides options for selecting objects individually, by type, or select all. All object types selected in the drawing will be re-assigned to the correct layer. All object types with an object layer default setting of Layer = "0" are ignored.

Usage

WisDOT Design or WisDOT Sheets or WisDOT Survey tab > Manage panel > Layers menu > Assign Object Layer Defaults

The tool can also be accessed from the command line: DOTASSIGNOBJECTLAYERDEFAULTS

  1. Select objects by [All/Individual/Type] <Type>:

  • All Selects all Civil 3D objects that can be reassigned a layer.

  • IndividualIndividually select Civil 3D objects in model space.

  • Type Opens the Assign Object Layer Defaults dialog box to select Civil 3D object types. All objects of the selected types will be reassigned to the designated layer. Use Shift or Ctrl buttons to select multiple types.

  1. Results can be viewed in the command line or hit F2 to view in the AutoCAD Text Window.
