DWG - WisDOT Reference Template: OFF/ON

Overview

This tool switches Civil 3D to enable/disable automatically synchronizing to reference templates. By default, reference templates are connected to WisDOT DWGs in Civil 3D 2020 and beyond. This keeps production DWGs automatically up-to-date with changes to settings and styles. However, it does increase open time. This tool allows users to manage the use of reference templates.

Tip:

If a user chooses to disable automatic reference template synchronization, they will need to manually synchronize DWG files to get updates in them.

Whether or not automatic reference template synchronization is on, a user can synchronize an active DWG with it's reference template at anytime with

  1. Manage tab > Styles panel > Reference
    1. Verify the Load column is checked for reference templates.

    2. OK

Using tool

WisDOT [***] tab > Manage panel > Manage dropdown > Enable/Disable Reference Template Update

  1. If automatic reference template synchronization is on
    1. The command line will say WisDOT Reference Templates disabled.
  2. If automatic reference template synchronization is off
    1. The Attach Referenced Template dialog box will appear. This is the same dialog that appears from Manage tab > Styles panel > Reference. Verify the Load column is checked for reference templates. OK
