Alignment - Create Curb Offsets

Overview

Create Curb Offsets is a tool to automate the creation of offset alignments representing curb and gutter Face and Back alignments. A Flange/Flag/CG curb and gutter alignment is required prior to running this tool.

The names of the Face and Back alignments will need to be updated to reflect proper naming conventions, per

Usage

  1. WisDOT Design Tab > Design Panel > Alignment > Create Curb Offsets
  2. Offset to Face (Enter to Skip)
    1. If a value is not entered (Enter to Skip), that alignment will not be created. This allows the user to control which alignments are created, if only one is desired.
    2. Specify the distance from the CG/Flange Alignment to the Face of the Curb and Gutter
    3. Enter
  3. Command Line: Offset to Back (Enter to Skip)
    1. If a value is not entered (Enter to Skip), that alignment will not be created. This allows the user to control which alignments are created, if only one is desired.
    2. Specify the distance from the CG/Flange Alignment to the Back of the Curb and Gutter
    3. Enter
  4. Select Alignment [Offsets]
    1. In model space, select the source Flange/Flag/CG alignment.
    2. Optional: By Typing O or selecting Offsets on the command line, the offset values for the Face and Back alignments can be re-specified.
  5. Alignment Range [Entire, Pick] < Entire>:
    1. Specify the station range of the offset alignments
      1. Entire (Default): Creates the offset alignments along the entire length of the source alignment.
      2. Pick: Allows the User to specify the start and end station of the offset alignments.
        1. Select first point: In model space, select the start station
        2. Select second point: In model space, select the end station
  6. Pick Side
    1. In model space, specify which side of the source alignment the offset alignments are to be made.
  7. The tool continues after picking the side: Select Alignment. This allows the user to continue creating C&G offset alignments for other C&G entities.
    1. Enter or Esc to end the command.
  8. For Offset Alignments created with the tool, the naming of the offset alignments utilizes the source alignment name as follows
    1. Face: Source Alignment Name-Face
    2. Back: Source Alignment Name-Back
    3. If the Source Alignment Name contains the descriptor Flange or Flag, the tool will remove these descriptors for naming the new alignments.
