Alignment - Assign Alignment Styles

Overview

This command assigns alignment styles and alignment label set styles based on the alignment name. The command references a .csv file that the user chooses. The .csv maps alignment names to styles using wildcards.

Requirement: For this command to function, it is required that Civil 3D objects match the naming specified in the .csv file. The default .csv file utilizes naming conventions matching FDM 15-5 att. 3.2 and FDM 15-5 att 3.4.

Info: For WisDOT standard naming conventions, reference the FDM and/orC:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\WisDOT2020A.bundle\Contents\Windows\2020\en-US\AssignAliStyles.csv.

Tip: To create a .csv file to match project parameters, copy AssignAliStyles.csv to the project location and modify as needed.

Usage

WisDOT Design tab > Design panel > Alignment menu > Assign Alignment Styles

The tool can also be accessed from the command line: DOTASSIGNALISTYLES.

  1. Select Style data file [Default/browse Current/browse Last]:
    • Apply default - Uses the default .csv file provide by WisDOT. (C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\WisDOT2020A.bundle\Contents\Windows\2020\en-US\AssignAliStyles.csv)
    • View default - Opens the default csv.
    • browse Current - Opens a file selection dialog window to the location of the current drawing.
    • browse Last - Opens a file selection dialog window to the last location this command used.
  1. Assign Alignment styles (All/Select): <All>:
    • All (Selects all of the alignments in the drawing.)
    • Select (To pick alignment(s) in model space.)
