WisDOT plot styles
Last updated: 2021-11-05
Overview
The WisDOT Civil 3D standards require custom AutoCAD plotting files. WisDOT custom plotting files are included in the WisDOT Civil 3D resource files.
Warning: Altering WisDOT component files and directories may result in lost functionality. Contact CAE Support for more information.
When starting a project from a WisDOT template, the WisDOT templates are purged of all WisDOT standards components except those necessary for WisDOT Civil 3D Styles. To add all WisDOT standards components groups at once (symbol blocks, dimension styles, layers, linetypes, multileaders, and textstyles) use Add All Components. Each WisDOT standards component group can also be added individually to a drawing.
User component files can be created and stored in C:\WisDOT\Stnd\users\Myc3d20xx\
New custom linetype requests can be directed to the WisDOT Civil 3D Futures Trello board for review and consideration.

Plotting files
The WisDOT custom plotting files consist of color-dependent plot styles tables (CTB files), named plot style tables (STB files), plotter configuration files (PC3 files), plot model parameter files (PMP files), and DWF files listing plot style table settings. The files are located in: C:\WisDOT\Stnd\C3D20xx\Appdata\Plotters
- wisdot_standard.ctb, wisdot_black.ctb, and wisdot_color.ctb are color-dependent plot style tables. These plot style tables are the current WisDOT standard and should be used with all WisDOT drawings created in Civil 3D 2018 or later.
- wisdot_standard.stb, wisdot-black.stb, wisdot-color.stb, wisdot-gshade.stb, wisdot-gshade-ex-util-color.stb, wisdot_lw.stb, and wisdot_override.stb are named plot style tables. These files are included only for compatibility with legacy WisDOT DWG files created in Civil 3D 2016 or earlier.
- WisDOT DWF.pc3 and WisDOT PDF.pc3 are plotter configuration files used to publish to DWF or PDF.
- WisDOT DWF.pmp and WisDOT PDF.pmp are plot model parameter files used with WisDOT DWF.pc3 and WisDOT PDF.pc3
- WisDOT_Standard_CTB.dwfx and WisDOT_color_CTB.dwfx are documents listing detailed plot style table settings.
Plot style tables
Color-dependent plot style tables
Requirement: The color-dependent plot style tables (CTB) should be used with all WisDOT DWG files migrated to or created in Civil 3D 2018 or later.
Plot style table | Description |
---|---|
wisdot_standard.ctb |
Plots black and grayscale |
wisdot_black.ctb |
Plots black only |
wisdot_color.ctb |
Plots color and lineweight By Object |
Named plot style tables
Warning: The named plot style tables (STB) should only be used with non-migrated WisDOT DWG files created in Civil 3D 2016 or earlier.
Plot style table | Description |
---|---|
wisdot_standard.stb |
Plots black and grayscale |
wisdot-black.stb |
Plots black only |
wisdot-color.stb |
Plots in color |
wisdot-gshade.stb |
Plots grayscale only |
wisdot-gshade-ex-util-color.stb |
Plots grayscale except utility layers plot in color |
wisdot_lw.stb |
Plots black and grayscale except lineweight plots By Object |
wisdot_override.stb |
All plot style table settings plot By Object |
