WisDOT pipe network objects, data, and settings
Last updated: 2021-11-05
Overview
The WisDOT Civil 3D standards require Civil 3D pipe network objects, data, and settings. WisDOT pipe network objects, data, and settings reside in drawing template files, and in parts catalog files that are included in the WisDOT Civil 3D resource files.
Warning: Altering WisDOT component files and directories may result in lost functionality. Contact CAE Support for more information.
User component files can be created and stored in C:\WisDOT\Stnd\users\Myc3d20xx\
New custom pipe network object requests can be directed to the WisDOT Civil 3D Futures Trello board for review and consideration.
Resource files
Pipe network component files
The WisDOT pipe network component files consists of drawing template files and Parts Catalog files.
The drawing templates contain pipe network parts lists and Civil 3D pipe network styles. WisDOT drawing reference templates can be found in: C:\WisDOT\Stnd\C3D20xx\Templates\Template-ref
-
ref-pipe.dwt & ref-pipe.dwg are drawing reference templates containing parts lists, catchment styles & label styles, pipe styles & label styles, and structure styles & label styles.
There are separate parts catalog files and folders for WisDOT Pipes and WisDOT Structures. The parts catalog files are located in: C:\WisDOT\Stnd\C3D20xx\Program\PipesCatalog
- C:\WisDOT\Stnd\C3D20xx\Program\PipesCatalog\Pipes_USWI contains *.dwg, *.xml, *.bmp, and other various files that define WisDOT specific pipe object components for use in Civil 3D pipe networks.

C:\WisDOT\Stnd\C3D20xx\Program\PipesCatalog\Structures_USWI contains *.dwg, *.xml, *.bmp, and other various files that define WisDOT specific structure object components for use in Civil 3D pipe networks.
Pipe network parts lists
The reference templates contain multiple parts lists for different WisDOT Civil 3D pipe network design and production workflows.

Using pipe network objects, data, and settings
See topics in Pipe networks for help in creating pipe networks for WisDOT projects.
The WisDOT Civil 3D configuration provides a number of custom Civil 3D tools to aid in creating, modifying, and quantifying pipe networks. These tools can be found on the WisDOT Design ribbon tab. Ribbon > WisDOT Design tab > Design panel > Pipe Network menu
See WisDOT Design tab for pipe network tool description topics.
