Profile properties and styles

Open drawing file

1. Quick Access > Open
2. Open File dialog box
   1. Look in: browse to folder dataset is saved.
   2. Select AliProf-CtyE-prfl-prprtis-begin.dwg
   3. Open

Change profile style from surface profile (existing)

1. Left-click surface profile in profile view.
2. Contextual ribbon > Home tab > Modify panel > select Profile Properties
3. Profile Properties dialog box
   1. Information tab
      1. Object style: dropdown, select PROF Proposed
   2. Apply
   3. OK
4. ESC to end command

   Info: The line is solid green line.

5. Left-click surface profile.
6. Contextual ribbon > Home tab > Modify panel > select Profile Properties
7. Profile Properties dialog box
   1. Information tab
      1. Object style: dropdown, select RDWY Lane Edge
   2. OK
8. ESC to end command

   Info: The line is solid white linetype.

9. Left-click surface profile.
10. Contextual ribbon > Home tab > Modify panel > select Profile Properties
11. Profile Properties dialog box
    1. Information tab
       1. Object style: dropdown, select PROF Existing
    2. OK
12. ESC to end command

    Info: The line is a dashed blue line.

Change profile style from design profile (proposed)

1. Left-click proposed profile.
2. Contextual ribbon > Home tab > Modify panel > select Profile Properties
3. Profile Properties dialog box
   1. Information tab
      1. Object style: dropdown, select PROF Ditch Flow Line
   2. OK
4. ESC to end command

   Info: The line is a dashed purple line.

1. Left-click proposed profile.
2. Contextual ribbon > Home tab > Modify panel > select Profile Properties
3. Profile Properties dialog box
   1. Information tab
      1. Name: This is where you can change the name.
      2. Description: This is where a short description can be entered.
      3. Object style: dropdown, dropdown, contains several WisDOT templates.
         1. Select PROF Proposed
      4. Next >
   2. Profile Data tab
      1. Profile data tab contains a window with vital stats about the profile.
      2. Parent horizontal alignment contains the name of the parent alignment and its start and end stations.

1. Design Criteria tab
   1. Check box Use criteria-based design.
   2. Use design criteria file box is checked.
      1. Left-click ... to browse
      2. Select Design Speed Table dialog box
         1. Look in: dropdown, browse to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2020\enu\Data\Corridor Design Standards\Imperial
         2. File name: select WisDOT Design Criteria 2009.xml
         3. Open
   3. Default criteria table will populate. Keep Value as WisDOT Standard - Desirable Category 1
   4. Use design check set is checked. Keep as Standard.

1. Profile Locking tab

   Profile locking allows you to control the profile information, in case the alignment length or geometry changes.

   1. Anchor profile geometry points to alignment points radial - As the alignment gets longer, so does the profile and proposed profile. Everything is connected.
      1. Modify affected entities radial
         1. Notify which entities are affected check box - Yellow exclamation bubbles appear at locations that are affected, allowing you to modify.
      2. Delete affected entities radial - This allows you to redesign yourself.
   2. Anchor profile to alignment start radial
