Open drawing file

  1. Quick Access > Open
  2. Open File dialog box
    1. Look in: browse to folder dataset is saved.
    2. Select AliProf-CtyE-prfl-creat-dsn-begin.dwg
    3. Open

Create design (proposed) profile

  1. Home Tab > Create Design panel > Profile dropdown > left-click Profile Creation Tools
  2. Select profile view to create profile: Left-click on profile view grid.
  3. Create Profile dialog box
    1. Alignment: CthE
    2. Name: type Cty-E-Prop
    3. General tab
      1. Profile style: PROF Proposed
      2. Profile label set: dropdown, select WisDOT Standard
    4. OK

Transparent commands are special commands that need a command running before they get started. They work in conjunction with other commands and won't stop that command from running once started.

Transparent command can be found, usually on the right-hand side of the screen.

The transparent commands that work with profiles:

  • Profile Station Elevation - Specifies a profile view point location by specifying a station and elevation.
  • Profile Grade Station - Specifies a profile view point location using grade and station values from a known point.
  • Profile Grade Elevation - Specifies a profile view point location using grade and elevation values from a known point.
  • Profile Grade Length - Specifies a profile view point location using grade and length values from a known point.

Create profile with transparent commands

  1. Ribbon > Home tab > Create Design panel > Profile dropdown > select Profile Creation Tools
  2. Select profile view to create profile: Left-click on profile view grid.
  3. Create Profile dialog box
    1. Alignment: CthE
    2. Name: type CthE-Prop-Trans
    3. OK
  4. Profile Layout Tools toolbar > Tangent tools dropdown > select Draw Tangents
    1. Specify start point:Shift + right-click > OSnap menu > select Endpoint Left-click on start point of existing profile.

    2. Specify end point: Transparent Command toolbar > Left-click Profile Station Elevation command

      1. Select a profile view: Left-click on profile view grid.
      2. Specify station: type 1375Enter
      3. Specify elevation: graphically select, left-click near 916'.
      4. Specify station: graphically select, left-click near 1414'.
      5. ESC to end transparent command.
    3. Transparent Command toolbar > Left-click Profile Grade Station command
      1. Specify grade:-5Enter
      2. Specify station:2040Enter
      3. ESC to end transparent command.
    4. Transparent Command toolbar > Left-click Profile Grade Elevation command
      1. Specify grade:5Enter
      2. Specify elevation:904Enter
      3. ESC to end transparent command.
    5. Transparent Command toolbar > Left-click Profile Grade Length command
      1. Specify grade:2Enter
      2. Specify length:10Enter
      3. Specify grade:5Enter
      4. Specify length:40Enter
