Issue: DaylightProfileControl subassembly - no intercept found error

DaylightProfileControl incorrect states that no surface intercept is found in certain situations where the clear zone falls on the ditch back slope and the specific berm height would result in a berm location inside the clear zone.

Issue: Add Camping Signs to D-Signs Palette

The D-Signs palette is missing the following signs: DB5-69G, DG5-69G, DN5-69G.

Solution:

Added a "Camping" section towards the bottom of the D-Signs palette to include the missing signs.

New command: Assign Xrefs to Layers

A new command to assign existing Xrefs to their own custom layers has been developed.

Solution:

On the Manage panel:

  • Added a menu button under the Add Components menu named "Xref Tools"
  • Moved the "Load Xref on Layer" under the "Xref Tools" menu
  • Added button for "Assign Xrefs to Layers" under the "Xref Tools" menu

New report: Areas Report

Need a way to report areas and station range for multiple objects.

Solution:

"Areas Report" supports Polylines, 3D Polylines, Circles, Ellipses, Splines, Alignments, Feature Lines, and Parcels. This tool replaces "2D Area of Closed Polylines" tool.

  • Reports 2D Areas, station range, reference alignment, side, and 'not closed' status.
    • Object selection options include individual selection, individual selection + objects on same layer, or selection by layer names (comma separated, wildcards supported).
  • Option to label areas is included. Labels are placed on the current layer with the current text style and size.
  • Precision setting options for station and areas.

Issue: etopog.dwg contains duplicate and outdated blocks

etopog.dwg contains duplicate blocks that can be found in MarkerSymbols.dwg. The etopog.dwg blocks are most likely outdated.

Solution:

Removed etopog.dwg from the \Blocks folder and updated palettes that referred to blocks in etopog.dwg to point to MarkerSymbols.dwg.

Match criteria that do not start with the \"*" wildcard are still considered to start with the \"*" wildcard. For example: A wildcard criteria to find a layer is "E*". This returns a match on any layer that contains "E", such as "My**E**xistingLayer". Affected tools include:

  • DOTAssignCorridorTargets
  • DOTAssignCDPBreaklineLayers
  • DOTAssignAliStyles

Solution:

Wildcard matching criteria has been updated to always start at the beginning of the string.

Issue: Control Profile Editor - Missing hyphens in default names

WisDOT default names are missing hyphens between baseline and side. Hyphens were placed in CreateSlpCntlProfs.csv as a workaround. However, this causes issues when editing the file in Excel.

Solution:

Removed the hyphens from CreateSlpCntlProfs.csv . Updated the Control Profile Editor source code to correctly hyphenate the names.

Issue: Control Profile Editor - Problem with station selection

The Control Profile Editor loses the station pick function in a rotated UCS. This sometimes happens when in corridor section editor.

Solution:

Issue: MedianDaylight subassembly point codes

The MedianDaylight subassembly attachment point and connecting point have the same point code (Median). In order to easily create independent corridor surfaces for each side of the median, these point codes should be unique.

Solution:

Changed the default attachment point code to "MedianAtt". Change the default connecting point code to "MedianCon".

Need an automated way to create alignments based on entities in the WisDOT intersection blocks. The tool should name the resulting alignments per FDM standards and place them in a folder.

New tool added to the WisDOT Design ribbon > Alignment menu button.

The csv creation process needs to be simplified. Command requires each nested folder listed on a separate line in the correct order in the csv.

Solution:

The command has been enhanced to process full paths listed in the input *.csv. Each folder in a given path is processed to assure the full path is processed with a single line entry.

Issue: Marker Symbols Updates

The W Block is too wide. CULV and CULV2 blocks sometimes are not scaled uniformly. CULV has incorrect insertion point. Missing TFSMM. RRS block is outdated.

Solution:

Adjust the block overall size of the W BLock. Adjust CULV and CULV 2 properties to allow un-uniform block scaling. Adjust CULV insertion point. Create new CULV-PNT block for use in Point Styles. Update RRS block.

Issue: New command: DOTInsertMappingFile

The DOTMAP command required additional work to update any blocks that were outdated using the DOTBLKReplace tool. Need for a new tool to automate the mapping insertion and block updates.

Solution:

  • Created new command DOTInsertMappingFile.
  • The command adds all components, inserts the chosen DWG using a file dialog, and updates current drawing with all WisDOT block symbols.
  • It finds all block references that reference blocks ending with "_##". The block references are reassigned to blocks with the name on the left side of the underscore.
  • All legacy blocks references named "PINEL, TREE, CULVRT, TA, VERT, MARSH, TAN, LTP, WATERT" are replaced with the appropriate current standards block. If the appropriate block does not exist in the drawing, the block reference is not replaced.
  • Blocks that have custom scales assigned in the original DWG (such as CULV, CULV2, Inlet) are adjusted to reflect the original scales/sizing.
  • Once all of the mapping block references are replaced, all unused blocks and components are purged from the dwg.
  • The Survey Tab > Mapping Panel has been updated to reflect the change.

Issue: Layer conversion tool for CDP breakline files

The Design Surface Data Extractor produces breakline files with a layer structure based on the source of the breakline. Contractors would have a quicker and better understanding of what the breaklines represent if the layer structure was based on the point codes used to produce the original feature lines.

Solution:

Developed a tool that reads the xdata from the extracted breaklines and assigns them to new layers that are named based on the source point codes.

There is a need to adjust the marker and link label sizes on an assembly when the labels become cluttered. However, they still need to remain independent of the drawing scale.

Solution:

Created new command DOTBUMPASSEMBLYLABELSIZES. Command adjusts the marker and link label expression for text size. Each time the command is run, the text size increases by 0.1 with a maximum size of 1.0. Once the maximum is reach, the size drops to 0.1 and begins increasing again.

Issue: DOTCREATESUPERELEVATIONPROFILES

The current method for sizing the superelevation band within a profile view does not scale correctly for all superelevation scenarios and as a result does not match the profile grid lines.

Solution:

Develop a tool that will create superelevation profiles. Command = DOTCREATESUPERELEVATIONPROFILES. Include a dialog box for choosing an alignment (lists alignments with superelevation only) and check boxes to select which superelevation profiles will be created.

Names will be automatic with option to override: AlignmentName-Side-SE-Type. Example: 25-L-SE-OutsideLane.

Layers will follow Civil Object Layer Default.

Addition of 6 new styles for superelevation profiles.

When using MedianDaylight, many different errors are presented as if the subassembly is corrupted.

Issue: Design Surface Data Extractor - Empty log file in wrong location

The utility is creating an empty log file in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\log\ApplicationLog.xml

The utility is supposed to create a text file named AcDesignSurfaceDataExtractor.log I believe the file was created under the Documents folder but I am not sure if this is correct.

Solution:

Added AcDesignSurfaceDataExtractor.dll.config to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\WisDOT2020A.bundle\Contents\Windows\2020.

Issue: BG EAT Block sub-entity direction and zero length geometry

In order for the CreateAlignsFromBGBlocks tool to work properly, The entities in the BG blocks need to be oriented in the same direction. The alignments will still get created regardless of the direction of the entities, but they may not be going the desired direction. BG EAT R Tangent contains a zero length polyline at the end of the BG the causes the ALI from BG Tool to fail.

Solution:

Review each BG EAT block for consistent entity direction. After reviewing the 'BG EAT L Tangent' block, it appears the Grade Line, Rail, and EGS entities are not going in the correct direction (see image.png). Assume the other blocks have the same issue. Remove zero length geometry.

With the Dynamo Scripts removed, a location is needed to keep 'standard' corridor target csv
