Create alignment from an existing alignment using alignment stations

Open drawing file
- Quick Access > Open
- Open File dialog box
- Look in: browse to folder dataset is saved.
- Select AliProf-All.dwg
- Open
Create alignment using alignment stations
- Ribbon > Home tab > Create Design panel > Alignment dropdown > Create Alignment from Existing Alignment
- Select an alignment:Hover over alignment > left-click > Selection Cycling dialog box > select Alignment
Tip: To toggle selection cycling, press Ctrl + W.
- Specify split point on alignment or [(E)ntities (F)inish]:40245Enter
- Specify next point or (S)tation (F)inish:34325Enter
- Specify next point or (S)tation (F)inish:FEnter
- Create Alignment from Existing Alignment dialog box
- Name: type AliProf-All-Alt1
- Leave all other settings as is.
- OK
Check if new alignment exists
- Hover over alignment > left-click > Selection Cycling dialog box
- See if new alignment is in the list.
- ESC to close
Add design to new alignment

Open drawing file
- Quick Access > Open
- Open File dialog box
- Look in: browse to folder dataset is saved.
- Select AliProf-All.dwg
- Open
Add new data design information to alignment
This method is best used to create a diversion, an alternate, from the original alignment.
- Zoom to the center of the alignment, between the two curves.
- Hover over alignment > left-click > Selection Cycling dialog box > select new Alignment (top of the list, when selected should highlight the tangent between the two curves.)
- Ribbon > Modify panel > Geometry Editor ORRight-click menu > Edit Alignment Geometry...
- Alignment Layout Tools toolbar > Line tool dropdown > Fixed Line (Two points)
- Specify start point: Left-click along, but not on, the alignment.
- Specify next point: Left-click another point heading north-east from start point.
- Alignment Layout Tools toolbar > Curve tool dropdown > Free Curve Fillet (Between two entities, through point)
- Specify first entity:Hover over alignment > left-click > Selection Cycling dialog box > select Alignment (tangent between two curves)
- Select next entity: Left-click newly created tangent
- Specify a through point: Move cursor between tangents until an appropriate arc is displayed. Left-click to accept.
- Right-click to end command.
- X to close Alignment Layout Tools toolbar

- Create Alignment from Existing Alignment dialog box
- Name: type AliProf-All-Alt2
- Leave all other settings as is.
- OK
Check if new alignment exists
- Hover over alignment > left-click > Selection Cycling dialog box
- See if new alignment is in the list.
- ESC to close
